Google Makes Changes To Site Wide Links – Impact on Veterinary Marketing

Veterinary MarketingGoogle recently made a change to how they display rankings for brands and small businesses.

Previously when searching for your practice or website name, there would only be 2-3 listings within the search engine, many of them somewhat obscure pages of your website.

Now when you search your hospital name for example, you will see up to 12 various links from your website, completely dominating the upper portion of the search engines.

The four search factors Google hopes to improve with this change are: visibility, flexibility, clarity, and quality.

For veterinary practices, some may have caught a lucky break. If your practice name is “Your City Vet”, Google may show your full site links when prospective clients are looking for a vet in general in your area (instead of for your practice in particular as Google is intending). This will be a major online boost for your clinic as it may dominate the search results in your area.
